Travel by train

If your journey involves travel by train, please note that there are several train stations in Manchester. The main station, where intercity trains normally terminate, is Manchester Piccadilly Station (e.g. Euston trains terminate here). If you are arriving here and wish to catch a bus to the venue, then  the easiest option is actually to first hop on a train to Manchester Oxford Road (these are very frequent, it only takes a couple of minutes and your train ticket to Manchester should be valid for this).

From Manchester Oxford Road station to Hulme Hall: Leave the station, cross over Oxford Road and take a bus (bus numbers 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 48, 49 will take you to Hulme Hall). Get off the bus after going past Manchester Royal infirmary and Whitworth Art Gallery. You should be getting off the bus in front of a row of shops which include Café Nero and a Tesco. Continue along Oxford Road until you see a large red bicycle shop. Turn left immediately after the bicycle shop on to Rusholme Place, this turns in to Oxford Place and Hulme Hall is situated 150 yards on the right-hand side. You can also get a taxi from Manchester Oxford Road which takes less than 10 minutes (longer in rush hour) and costs around £5.

If you prefer, you can get a taxi or bus from Picaddilly station: Arriving on the main concourse of the  station, with the platforms behind you, you will be facing the main doors. Do not go out that way but walk to the left and go down two sets of escalators to the taxi ramp area. A taxi to Hulme Hall will take about 10 minutes, longer in rush hour, and should cost about £7. Alternatively, if you wish to catch a bus from Piccadilly, it's a 5-minute walk to Piccadilly Gardens. You should see Manchester Piccadilly Bus Station signposted from the train station – catch any of the following buses: 41, 42, 43, 44, 45A or 48.

There is also a station to the north, called Victoria station, where some trains from Liverpool and Lancashire and other parts of the north of England terminate. However, some of these trains also stop at Oxford Road station and you're best to get off there.
